About Geanine

Geanine Thompson is the Founder and CEO of The College Guru™, a college admissions counseling firm that helps students identify their passions, find schools to help them fulfill their dreams and master the college admissions application process.

Today’s college admissions landscape requires counselors who possess both marketing and college admissions mastery. Geanine graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in English, received an MBA from Duke University, the Fuqua School of Business and is a participant in the nationally acclaimed College Admissions Counseling certification program at U.C.L.A.  She is also a member of the Higher Education Consultants Organization (HECA).

Geanine has extensive experience developing marketing strategies for Fortune 100 firms and has held of series of senior positions including Senior Vice President of Marketing for a premier wealth management firm. She is co-author of The Conscious Entrepreneur: A Radical Approach to Purpose, Passion and Profit.
